About me
Hello there, I'm Jesse Jones!
My name's Jesse and I'm a Sound Designer from Ontario, Canada.
Some habits I've picked across the various years I have worked in the field are; Communicating with cross-functional teams to ensure the highest quality gameplay. Helping to mentor more junior Sound Designers and collaborating with Audio Programmers to develop better tools.
Some games that have had the biggest influence on my personal audio journey are: the Mass Effect franchise, Metroid series, and Silent Hill series, I have a penchant and affinity for both the horror and sci-fi genres. Creature sounds, sci-fi weapons, and thought-provoking beds of ambience are my favourite content to create.
Most anticipated upcoming games are; Exodus, Mass Effect 5, GTA 6, and the Witcher 4
Some of my other hobbies and interests include hiking, road trips, astrophotography, collecting of retro games and vinyl records. It can be really nice to spend some time in the great outdoors and touch grass every once in a while.

Key Projects

Apeiron
Exiled Republic
Role playing fantasy game in the vein of Dragon Age; navigating the adventure as your party of four each with different skills and abilities.
Created all the FMOD and Unreal infastructure for the project, as well as SFX for character kits, spells, weapons, foley, footsteps, creatures and so on.
The Anacrusis
Stray Bombay
First person co-op shooter on a derelict spaceship in the vein of Left for Dead but with a twist; aliens rather than zombies. Quirky multiplayer fun on PC and Xbox.
Supported the team as junior sound designer prior to the live launch of the game including weapons and alien biology, etc.


Samurai Zero
Neo Interactive
Third person melee combat multiplayer game set in the sci-fi fantasy world of Edo.
Created infrastructure and SFX in Wwise and Unreal Engine 4, including weapons, character kits, foley and so on, with a focus on tailoring a mix that would work well in the fast paced chaos of a 4v4 free-for-alls in multiplayer.
OrbusVR
Ad Alternum Games
The world's 'first' VRMMORPG made for Oculus Rift and the HTC Vive. A fantasy game where you create your own adventure, fight monster and explore dunegons on a quest for greater power, it also featured VOIP proximity chat with other players.
Created all SFX as well as FMOD and Unity pipelines for the project. Content creation for everything from weather, ambience, creature and combat sounds that run the gamut.

Field Recording
Armed with some knowledge and good practices around field recording, we can build into a project a method of capturing original material that matches the project's vision.
Dialogue Editing
I pride myself on making dialogue sound very good wherever possible, whether that means RXing out flaws, editing together the best takes, this is a process I like to ensure is done with exceptional care.
Audio Implementation
Creating unique pipelines with all conventional audio middleware or just with good design philosophy in mind is something I take great pride in.

Sound Libraries
As a result of my field recording excursions, I have recently published my first sound library on various digital vendor platforms; European Pistols & Sidearms. As of January 2025, I have started the new year off publishing Golden State Mustang.
